1. Enjoy Summer Festivals & Concerts
Free summer festivals on the North Shore include: the Caribbean Days in July at Waterfront Park, Harmony Arts Festival in August along the waterfront in West Vancouver and the Coho Festival in September at Ambleside Park. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you will find many free outdoor summer concerts in North Vancouver.
2. Meet Locals at the Shipyards Night Market
Drop by the Shipyards Night Market at Shipbuilder’s Square on Friday evenings (May to October) from 5-10pm. Enjoy food trucks, beer garden, market vendors, live entertainment and breathtaking views of Downtown Vancouver. Free admission
Enjoy some award-winning beers at one of the North Shore’s many craft breweries. Taste a wide selection of delicious beers and ales onsite or grab a growler to take home with you. Take part in North Shore’s Ale Trail from Deep Cove Brewer and Distillers to Hearthstone Brewery.
5. Visit the Peak of Vancouver
Take the Skyride up to the Peak of Vancouver at Grouse Mountain for amazing views of the city. Be sure to catch to popular Lumberjack Show and Birds of Prey shows, and visit the resident grizzly bears in the wildlife refuge. Ride the zipline experience down Grouse Mountain, an exhilarating way to explore BC’S old growth forests.
7. Go for a Paddle in Deep Cove
Enjoy the scenic waters of Indian Arm by renting ocean kayaks, stand up paddle-boards, surf skis and canoes in Deep Cove. There is also a wide range of lessons and tours. Then wander through the charming waterfront village of of Deep Cove, and try some of the the best donuts available at Honey’s or enjoy the stunning views of Indian Arm along the Baden-Powell trail.
8. Walk the West Vancouver Seawall
The ocean breeze will keep you cool as you walk the scenic West Vancouver Seawall, which stretches from Ambleside to Dundarave. Stop off at one of the many restaurants along the Seawall or enjoy the concessions at Ambleside and Dundarave Beaches. You can also head into the villages of Ambleside or Dundarave where you will find plenty of cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and festivals during the summer months.
9. Visit Lonsdale Quay Market
Relax and enjoy the best views from the Lonsdale Quay Market. With over 80 speciality shops, a fresh food market with local produce and an international food court, there is truly something for everybody. There is plenty to do during SummerFest from Wednesday to Sunday each week or stop by the Green Leaf Brewing to sample some local craft beer on the patio.
10. Go Mountain Biking
The North Shore is famous for its mountain biking trails and offers a full range of shops and services to support your biking adventure. You will find trails for all experience levels, and you can always get a local bike tour company like Endless Biking to show you around.
