Halloween Activities on the North Shore

October is a fun month for children and their families in and around the North Shore, with many opportunities to dress up, trick-or-treat and visit great Halloween events and attractions. Here is a list of our favourite Halloween inspired activities:

Halloween at the Market

What: Lonsdale Quay will host a number of activities, see the schedule below
11:30am – 12pm:
Spooky Time with North Vancouver City Library
12pm – 3pm:
– Trick or Treat (Retail Level ONLY)
– Arts & Crafts! Design Your Pumpkin & Colouring
– Balloon Twisting Fun (for a small fee)
2pm – 3pm:
Visit with Frozen’s Elsa and Batman

Where: Lonsdale Quay

When: Thursday, October 31st from 11:30 am to 3 pm

Fright Nights 

What: Playland’s annual Halloween celebration features eight haunted houses and over a dozen rides

Where: PNE grounds at 2901 East Hastings Street

When: Open on select nights from October 4 until October 31 starting each night at 7pm

VanDusen Glow in the Garden

What: A walk through the gardens with unique features such as a new light show, lit-up carved pumpkins and indoor Halloween activities

Where: VanDusen Garden at 5251 Oak St, Vancouver

When: Open daily from Thursday, October 17 to Sunday, October 27, from 5pm to 9pm

Stanley Park Ghost Train

What: Each year the Stanley Park Ghost Train takes riders on a journey through a mystical and magical world, inspired by Halloween and other spooky tales, this year the theme is Alice in Nightmareland

Where: Located on Pipeline Road in Stanley Park, via the West Georgia Street park entrance.

When: The train runs every day from October 11th until October 31st

Spoo-ook-tacular Halloween at Britannia Mine 

What: The exciting world of science returns to the Museum with family friendly frights that focus on ‘scary’ science. Bugs, bats, ghost stories and unusual things to touch guarantee a ‘Spoo-ook-tacular’ time for visitors.

Where: Britannia Mine Museum at 1 Forbes Way, Britannia Beach

When: October 19th & 20th and October 26th & 27th from 10 am to 3 pm
