Family Day Events on the North Shore


Family Day is coming up on February 20, giving British Columbians the opportunity to spend the day with their family and loved ones. Make the most of your Family Day weekend in the City by checking out fun local activities and events.

The Shipyards

February 17-20: Family Day at The Shipyards with Warming Hut pop-up
Bring the entire family for a public skate while enjoying activations throughout the day including food trucks, live music, an ice skating performance, and a pop-up activation of the Warming Hut by Windfall Cider & Co.

February 18: Great Canadian Kilt Skate
The first Great Canadian Kilt Skate in BC will take place at the The Shipyards Skate Plaza on Saturday, February 18 at 8:30 pm. Everyone is invited, so grab your kilt or tartans and show your appreciation for Scotland’s contribution to Canada.

February 17: Neighbourhood Hot-Pop Up
Community Hot-Pop Up! Kick off Family Day weekend with Play CNV. Look for Play at the northwest corner of Esplanade and Lonsdale to engage in some family friendly activities. Enjoy a free live performance with musician Alex Ritchie and grab a coffee or hot chocolate provided by Mo's General Store.

February 18: Family Day Crafternoon
Join us at the library on Family Day long weekend for a creative upcycling workshop led by local crafter and upcycler extraordinaire Denise Corcoran. Use your imagination and create artwork with repurposed materials!
