North Shore

Canada Day at Waterfront Park

 

  • What: The 29th annual North Vancouver Canada Day Celebrations emphasizes heritage, multiculturalism, environmentalism and fun for the whole family. The free event features live performers, crafts, food trucks, as well as games and activities for people of all ages to enjoy. Hosted by The Rotary Club of Lions Gate.
  • Where: Waterfront Park – 325 Esplanade Avenue, North Vancouver
  • When: July 1 from noon to 4 pm
  • Cost: Free

North Vancouver Canada Day Parade

 

  • What: Hosted by the Celebrate North Shore society, the annual parade features a huge variety of colourful floats from all around the community, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion and Cadet Branches.
  • Where: Starts at 13th Street and Grand Boulevard, goes west on 13th Street to Lonsdale, north on Lonsdale, west on 17th Avenue, and ends at Jones and Mahon Park.
  • When: July 1 at 10 am

Canada Day in Horseshoe Bay

  • What: Join Karen Fowlie and Friends for a special Canada 150 celebrations with a free concert recognizing Canadian Women in Song. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy a musical journey beginning with Joni Mitchell, Anne Murray, Sarah McLachlan as well as tributes to the legendary Leonard Cohen and The Tragically Hip.
  • Where: Horseshoe Bay Park
  • When: July 1 from 7 to 10 pm
  • Cost: Free

True North Strong and Free at John Lawson Park

  • What: The festivities start with a citizenship ceremony at 2 pm followed by live entertainment, kids activities and a variety of food vendors. Be sure to stay and enjoy the fireworks show from the beach.
  • Where: John Lawson Park, 17th Street and Bellevue Avenue
  • When: July 1 from 2 to 10:30 pm
  • Cost: Free
