There is so much to see and do on Vancouver’s North Shore during the holiday season.  Here are just a few events on and around the North Shore to get you into the holiday spirit!

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park


When: November 24, 2017 to January 28, 2018
Holiday activities from 4-9pm; Park is open from 11am – 9pm daily (except Christmas Day)

Where: Capilano Suspension Bridge – 3735 Capilano Road, North Vancouver

What: Capilano Suspension Bridge’s annual holiday tradition Canyon Lights is a must-see holiday event for all ages. You will be dazzled by thousands of magical lights twinkling across the Suspension Bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk and throughout the park. You will also see the world’s tallest living Christmas tree — 153 feet tall and still growing!

Canyon Lights includes: admission to the park, a Snowy Owl Prowl, gingerbread cookie decorating, make your own Christmas card (by donation) in the Winter Pavilion and sing-a-long carols with the Christmas band.

Fall for Local Holiday Market


When:
 Saturday December 9 & Sunday December 10 @ 11am to 5pm

Where: The Pipe Shop Building, 115 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver

What: Fall For Local returns to North Vancouver for their 2017 Holiday Market! FFL is a one-of-kind ‘shop local’ event, that prides itself on curating high quality modern pop-up ft. independent brands. Not only can you shop from over 85 brands, but you can enjoy our free holiday wreath workshop, free gift wrapping station, warm up with free coffee, indulge in our food trucks, and more!

Peak of Christmas


Where: Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver

When: November 24, 2017 – January 7, 2018

What: Experience the magic of the season at The Peak of Christmas on Grouse Mountain. Come see how the Elves have transformed Grouse Mountain into a North Pole Experience.Enjoy fun family-friendly activities in the Chalet and watch classic Christmas movies on the big screen in the mountaintop theatre. Or head outside go for a mountaintop sleigh ride or bring your skates and enjoy the outdoor skating pond. Skate rentals are available.

Bright Nights at Stanley Park


Where: Stanley Park

When: November 30th until January 6th, except for Christmas Day on December 25th.

What: Arguably the best place to take children in December to see holiday decorations and illuminations in the Lower Mainland, Bright Nights is an annual event running from the end of November until the beginning of January each year. Open most days during the holiday season from around 3 until 10 pm, Bright Nights probably features the most lights of any attraction in Metro Vancouver, as well as wonderful Christmas character displays and festive cheer.

Robson Square Concerts & Skating

 
Where: Robson Square is located in the 800 block of Robson Street between Howe and Hornby streets behind the Vancouver Art Gallery.
When: December 13th to December 31st, not including December 25th & 26th. Most concerts are in the evenings from 6:30 until 9:30 pm, although on weekends there are sometimes additional performances in the afternoons.
What: Over the Christmas holidays n 2017 ice skating at Robson Square is extra special on 12 different evenings. That’s when there’s live music with popular local bands and musicians.
